I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, specializing in individual, couples and group work. My services weave together and counseling skills that are interchangeable and individualized for each client’s needs. I provide a space where I am wholly present both for my client and for myself, letting our experience together guide the work we do.
In order for authentic change to be possible, self-awareness – a concentration on present moment experience – and self-acceptance is paramount. I integrate modern therapy techniques and Yoga (including physical postures, breathing and guided meditation) to aid my clients in being present throughout the session. I believe our bodies have a rich potential to act as a vehicle for self- awareness, to focus in on how the body reacts to thought and emotion patterns.
Whether adult, child or adolescent, the skills learned, when practiced, become tools used in every situation life brings: relationship issues, depression and anxiety, eating disorders, career issues, developmental changes such as becoming a parent or retiring, self-identity and learning issues, trauma or abuse. Sessions are designed to benefit the client taking physical limitations into high regard.
Utilizing evidence-based therapy techniques in conjunction with the ancient wisdom of Yoga, I provide a counseling experience that is unique and empowering, enlightening and engaging.
My rates are reasonable so that I might provide services to people who might not otherwise afford counseling services without managed care involvement.
